Because of the heavy traffic being experienced at Marcos Highway due to the arrival of visitors, the Metro Baguio, La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba, Tublay Development Authority (MBLISTT) headed by Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong decided to open Kennon Road for light vehicles and UV Express starting December 24, 2023.
All motorists must maintain a 40KM per hour speed and parking on the sides of the road is prohibited.
In addition, in case of an earthquake, heavy rains, and/or landslides, Kennon Road will immediately be closed.
Kennon Road was closed in July this year due to the landslide and the collapsing of the slope protection project of DPWH caused by heavy rains along Camp 6, Tuba, Benguet.
It is not yet announced when it will be closing again.
