Baguio City marked this year’s Pride Month with a colorful and meaningful event, the Miss Trans Global Philippines 2025 coronation night.

Held on June 15, the pageant gathered 11 candidates from across the country to compete not just in beauty and poise but also in advocacy and leadership.

“What sets this pageant apart,” said Ronn Astillas, chairperson of the Philippine LGBT Chamber of Commerce, “is that it’s not just about beauty or body. It highlights what each candidate stands for.”

From the opening number in swimwear to the elegant evening gown competition, the audience was treated to a vibrant display of confidence and grace.

As the Top 7 were announced, the competition intensified during the question-and-answer portion where the candidates were asked, “What is the contribution of the LGBTQIA+ community in the aspect of leadership?”

After their heartfelt responses, three candidates made it to the final round—Miss Batangas, Miss Carmona City, and Miss Benguet.

Moments later, the title of Miss Trans Global Philippines 2025 was awarded to 29-year-old Kyra Isabelle Antonio of Benguet.

“It’s definitely a dream come true,” Antonio shared in an interview. “I’ve always been thankful for Miss Trans Global Philippines. This is my second time joining, and now I want to continue what I started in the Cordillera region and bring it to the international stage.”

Her friend, Red Spiegelman, was emotional, saying, “She’s always been an introvert, and I’m so happy to see her finally coming out of her shell.”

Kyra is now set to represent the Philippines at the Miss Trans Global International pageant in London later this year.
