The provincial government, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and the First Spouses League, led by Chairperson Maan Tuazon-Guico, distributed art books and manipulative toys to various barangays in Urdaneta City.
She brought various learning materials for the daycare students.
Her first stop was Barangay Casantaan, where she was warmly welcomed by barangay officials.
There, she personally handed each student art books and manipulative toys, such as puzzle blocks.
“We’re providing these materials which can be reused by the children,” said Maan Tuazon-Guico, Chairperson of the First Spouses League of Pangasinan.
A feeding program, games, and storytelling were also conducted, much to the delight of the young children.
She also visited Barangay Cabuloan, where children showcased their dancing skills.
Even the teachers received food packs as gifts in celebration of Teachers’ Day.
The barangay officials expressed their gratitude for the learning materials, which will greatly aid the daycare students in their studies.
“I would like to thank our beloved Governor Ramon ‘Mommom’ Guico, Congressman Ramon ‘Monching’ Guico Jr., and especially our First Lady of Pangasinan, Ma’am Guico. Thank you so much! This means a lot to the children, as you can see, they and their parents, as well as the teachers, are very happy today,” said Punong Barangay Danny Ildefonso of Barangay Cabuloan.
First Lady Maan Tuazon-Guico also visited Barangay Dilan-Paurido to personally hand over the learning materials.
During her visit, she highlighted the hardships faced by child development center teachers.
She hopes that incentives and other benefits can be provided to the teachers.
Additionally, she aims to make the parents’ monthly fee of 150 pesos free of charge.
“Imagine, 28 years with no benefits. This is the plight of our day care workers,” she also mentioned.
The distribution of learning materials was supported by the PSWDO, the Office of the Governor, barangay officials, and board members.
