Seventy-five solo parents in Pugo, La Union, received financial assistance of 3,000 pesos each from the local government as part of its first-quarter aid program for 2025.

The distribution, held on March 20, aims to support solo parents in managing their daily expenses.

According to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), the initiative is designed to ease the financial burdens of solo parents and provide them with necessary support.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the aid, which helps them sustain their families.

Beyond financial assistance, the Pugo LGU also offers other programs for solo parents, such as livelihood training and scholarship grants for their children.

The local government continues to encourage eligible solo parents to register for the program to receive assistance in future distributions.

Meanwhile, as part of Women’s Month celebrations, the Pugo LGU also offered free pedicures, manicures, and massages for women on March 21 under the “Serbisyo Para Kay Juana” program.

Many women benefited from the services, highlighting the importance of recognizing and supporting women beyond the month of March.

The MSWDO emphasized that empowering women should be a year-round effort through equal opportunities and continuous support.

The local government also extended its appreciation to those who contributed to making the event possible, especially the service providers.
