Electronics engineer Adrian used to spend three to five hours renewing his professional license every year.
But this time, it only took him an hour, thanks to the PRC-CAR’s mobile outreach service.
According to Adrian Manaois, an Electronics Engineer, “They made it easier by setting up satellite offices. It means renewal is more convenient. Instead of just one location, now there are two in Baguio, two in La Union, and two in Pangasinan. Unlike before, when the lines were long and by appointment only, this is much better.”
Aside from license renewal, applying for board exams has also been simplified.
Juanita L. Domogen, Regional Director, PRC-CAR, expressed, “For examinees, processing applications at schools is much better. If they have missing documents, they can easily request them from their registrar or dean, ensuring complete applications. Our office is also small, making it difficult to accommodate all applicants.”
This is a big help for those taking the Medical Technologist Licensure Examination (MTLE) this March.
Dianne Kyla Bautista, MTLE Applicant, shared, “The filing process itself only takes about two weeks before the exam, but the actual exam preparation takes longer.”
Deanne Kaye Mercolisia, MTLE Applicant, stated, “The process is the same. It’s really quick to apply.”
Earl Quizon, MTLE Applicant, expressed, “It’s more convenient now. The PRC-CAR office is nearby, unlike before when we had to travel far. Payments can also be made online, so the process is much faster.”
PRC also aims to make transactions more accessible, preventing applicants from traveling long distances or taking leave from work.
Domogen emphasis, “Since 2010, we’ve been doing this, visiting offices, schools, and even local government units to bring our services to professionals. Many work from 8 to 5, Monday to Friday, so they need to file leave just to renew their licenses, especially those from remote areas.”
PRC-CAR will continue its mobile outreach in different areas across the region to deliver faster and more efficient services.
