LIFE-SIZE BATMAN FIGURE MADE OF PAPER MACHE, FEATURED IN THE GRAND FLORAL FLOAT PARADE OF PANAGBENGA 2025

BY: JOSE ROBERT INVENTOR

“I AM VENGEANCE. I AM THE NIGHT. I AM BATMAN.”

These are just a few of the iconic lines that have left a lasting impact on fans of all ages.

After all, who doesn’t know Batman, the famous DC superhero?

This movie character is now the centerpiece of a float set to parade this Sunday, February 23, during the Grand Floral Float Parade of the Panagbenga Festival 2025.

It could even be called Batman’s vehicle, the Batmobile.

Many will be amazed as the float carries a seven-foot-tall Batman statue.

But you’ll be even more impressed knowing that Batman is made entirely of paper mache, layered and molded from newspapers and paper.

This masterpiece was created by Baguio-born fine arts graduate, Jed Cunanan.

Cunanan started making this piece in 2018 and completed it by mid-2019.

All materials used, including Batman’s full accessories, are recycled.

Every detail, from head to toe, is spot on.

Last year, Cunanan also showcased his work in a LEGO-inspired float made up of thousands of LEGO pieces, forming the Maiden of Panagbenga.

This Sunday, the Batmobile float will be among 42 floats parading to bring color to this year’s Panagbenga Festival celebration.
