After nearly one year of hiding, the primary suspect in the killing of Los Baños, Laguna Mayor Ceasar Perez fell in a dragnet laid by Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Batangas and CIDG Baguio City agents Tuesday afternoon here.
Norvin Lantican Tamisin, a former Los Baños town councilor was cornered at Bareng Drive, Barangay Bakakeng Sur here.
On the night of December 3, 2020, Perez was assasinated at the municipal compound in Los Baños.
Tamisin was traced by the CIDG who was hiding at Bakakeng Sur here, the Cordillera police said.
The CIDG personnel then conducted an operation for his immediate arrest by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of MURDER (RPC ART. 248) docketed CC No. 39080-2021-C issued by Hon. Rene Deveza Natividad, Assisting Judge of RTC Branch 107, Los Baños, Laguna dated October 22,2021.
Deveza recommended no bail for the former town councilor’s temporary liberty.
According to the report, Alternative Recording Device (ARD) was properly used during the operation pursuant to the Rules on Body-Worn Camera issued by the Supreme Court (SC).
Tamisin is considered as the number 6 most wanted person in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Quezon (Calabarzon) by the police.
He was brought at Camp General Miguel Malvar in Batangas.
