Magalong contracts COVID-19 again

Baguio City mayor Benjamin Magalong tested positive again for COVID-19.

He publicly announced Monday that he was infected basing on the test result as of January 30, 2022, his second time to contract the virus. He first got the virus April last year.

Magalong said that his symptoms which started to manifest on January 29, are very mild. “My swab test result came out last night. I am positive for COVID-19. My symptoms appeared Saturday evening. I will be on home isolation until Saturday,” he said.

The mayor urged the people to take care of themselves and their families. While in isolation, the mayor vowed to continue to perform his duties through digital means.

“Let’s have a productive week,” he told the management committee composed of department heads Monday morning.

Magalong will continue to preside over the regular management committee meeting on February 3, 2022 to map out plans on the various concerns affecting the city including developments on the omicron variant surge.
