BONTOC, Mountain Province – Magalong has retired from office.
But this is Carmencita W. Magalong, the erstwhile provincial administrator of this province who vacated her office on Wednesday, April 14, upon reaching the age of 65.
Magalong spent 32 years in government service who bade farewell to her boss – Gov. Bonifacio Lacwasan during the send-off and turn-over ceremony.
Magalong leaves her office and has turned over her duties and responsibilities to an academician from the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College.
The other Magalong of note in the Cordillera is Baguio mayor Benjamin Magalong, who returned to the Baguio City Hall Wednesday after 14 days of isolation due to Covid-19. He retired from police service in 2017 after serving among others is Police Regional Office – Cordillera chief and head of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
And he has an administrator named Bonifacio – dela Pena, who Monday said that his boss is about to get back to work after completing the mandatory isolation.
Dr. Jose Anganay Tombali took his oath office from Lacwasan during a simple turn-over ceremony at the Provincial Capitol quadrangle here.
Tombali is from Tanudan, Kalinga and is married to Josefa Bayogan of Poblacion, Tadian. They have four male children.
Tombali, who has a Doctor of Philosophy degree, used to teach at the MPSPC for years until his retirement in the early 2000.
In his message, Tombali thanked Governor Lacwasan for inviting him to join the Provincial Government’s work force.
Tombali also expressed his willingness to work with the personnel of the provincial government and shared that one of his advocacies is the promotion of good and healthy working relationships.
