At the start of 2025, the impeachment cases against VP Sara became a hot topic.
On February 5, the impeachment process advanced after a congressional vote.
Out of 316 congressmen, 215 voted in favor of the proceedings.
Among the complaints against VP Sara are graft and corruption, betrayal of public trust, threats to the president’s life, and alleged misuse of the Department of Education’s confidential funds.
Last year, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. urged Congress not to prioritize the impeachment.
Despite the president’s appeal, the proceedings continued.
Some believe the president was involved, an allegation he denied.
Although the Senate has received the impeachment articles, discussions will only begin after the President’s fourth SONA on July 2.
