Man stabs live-in partner to death in Iocos Sur

A man stabbed his live-in partner to death after a verbal spat at around 8:00 AM Monday in Barangay Pug-os, Cabugao town in Ilocos Sur.

Rowena Ibea Ramos, 26, did not reach the community health unit clinic alive where she was rushed by villagers after suffering stab wounds on her abdomen, legs and hands.

Police said the victim’s live-in-partner Fredelito Azcueta Layugan, 46, and a farmer, reportedly went to the house where Ramos was working as a care-giver prompting a verbal spat.

At the height of the verbal exchange, the victim reportedly ran but was chased by Layugan. When the suspect caught up witj his live-in partner, he brought out a knife and started stabbing her.

Responding policemen immediately caught the suspect and recovered the 15-inch kitchen knife he used in attacking his live-in partner.
