MASTER DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE CAMP JOHN HAY SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE, SET TO BEGIN

BY: CHARLES NIKKO LIMON

Due to the weight and bulk of golf equipment, it’s almost impossible for golfers to carry everything themselves.

That’s why caddies are there to help.

One of them is Angel, who has been working at Camp John Hay Golf Club for 25 years.

However, with BCDA’s takeover of the John Hay Special Economic Zone, they can’t help but worry about losing their jobs.

These fears were eased when the new management assured them that no one would be let go and that there would be no changes in the golf club’s operations.

In an exclusive interview with RNG News, BCDA President and CEO Joshua Bingcang confirmed that the Landco Pacific Corporation under the MV Group of Companies will oversee nine establishments within Camp John Hay.

Joshua Bingcang, President and CEO of the BCDA, mentioned, “They were chosen based on their qualifications, experience, credibility, and readiness to take on the job immediately after the takeover.”

However, he confirmed that they have replaced the security agency handling the area.

After the management turnover to BCDA, many opportunities await Camp John Hay, but one pressing issue remains unresolved, the lack of a clear master development plan.

According to BCDA President Joshua Bingcang, the master plan will prioritize sustainability, modernization, and environmental protection.

Bingcang emphasized that this is crucial for the continued growth of Camp John Hay.

While waiting for the master plan to be finalized, BCDA has started working on improving and enhancing some of the area’s facilities.

These projects are also sustainable and align with Baguio City’s vision as a smart city.

BCDA continues to welcome local and international investors interested in Camp John Hay and is also in talks with establishments looking to renew their contracts.
