More than 8,000 residents of Alaminos City received free medical services during the Alagang Pamilya Mega Medical Mission Year 2.
For many, healthcare often takes a backseat due to the high cost of living. Some endure their ailments, unable to afford proper treatment. This reality has inspired over 300 volunteers, including doctors from the United States and other medical professionals, to extend their services to the city’s residents.
Various medical services were offered, including minor surgical procedures. One of the beneficiaries, Bruce Arboleda, underwent free minor surgery.
“I availed of a light or minor surgery today, and it was done quickly. I was also given complete post-surgery medication,” he shared.
Aside from surgical procedures, consultations were also provided. Erlinda Dialogo, another beneficiary, expressed her gratitude.
“The service was good, and we received a lot of medicines,” she said.
The medical mission also covered dental and optical services, with some patients receiving free prescriptions and medications.
According to organizers, this initiative has been an annual tradition for over a decade. This year, it served more than 8,000 residents.
“I think this is our 11th year. One of the essential services is healthcare, and we aim to provide the best service,” said Anton Perez, project coordinator of JCI Hundred Islands.
The group assured that they will continue to provide quality medical services to the residents of Alaminos City in the coming years.
