MEET THE CANDIDATES WHO FILED THEIR COC IN THE ILOCOS REGION

Despite recovering from Typhoon Julian’s effects, Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc has filed his candidacy for his final term.

In a Facebook post, the governor expressed his intention to continue what he has started.

His aunt, Vice Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos, also filed her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for re-election.

In Villaviciosa in Abra, 10 individuals filed their COC for the upcoming 2025 midterm elections, 8 for Sangguniang Bayan members, 1 for Vice Mayor, and 1 for Mayor.

They expect more candidates to file their COCs tomorrow, October 8, the last day for submission.

Meanwhile, Team Life, led by incumbent Councilor Celia Lim and Brian Lim, also filed their candidacy in Dagupan City.

Celia Lim will challenge Belen Fernandez to take the mayoral seat in the city.

Celia Lim will be running alongside Dagupan City Mayor Brian Lim, who will compete against incumbent Vice Mayor Bryan Kua.

In Sual, Pangasinan, incumbent Mayor Dong Calugay, also filed his COC.

Before filing, he visited the Saint Peter the Martyr Church with his full lineup and supporters.

“I love you all so much, I love you very much,” said Mayor Dong Calugay.

It can be recalled that Mayor Calugay was summoned by the Senate after his name was linked to illegal POGO operations in Bamban, Tarlac, and for allegedly having ties with former Bamban Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, who has also expressed interest in running for mayor in Bamban.

In the last election, Mayor Calugay garnered more than 14,000 votes, securing his position as mayor of Sual.
