A total of 853 vendors from the Lingayen Public Market received two thousand pesos each from the provincial government of Pangasinan, led by Governor Ramon V. Guico III.
This financial aid aims to support their daily expenses and serve as additional capital.
It took place on November 4 at the Sison Auditorium in the town of Lingayen.
“This is good news, not just a consultation. This is Governor Monmon’s program for financial assistance to vendors. So please be patient, as Governor Monmon will give you two thousand pesos each this morning,” said Governor Ramon V. Guico III.
Aside from financial aid, vendors also received various medical services such as check-ups and consultations.
Some vendors without PhilHealth were also registered under the Guiconsulta Program.
“I said, let’s organize all market vendors, those with stalls and ambulant vendors, as one of the goals is to give everyone PhilHealth. Guiconsulta offers free annual check-ups for you and your children; it’s important for all of us to get check-ups through Guiconsulta and PhilHealth,” Governor Guico added.
Vendors are deeply thankful as they say the aid significantly helps with their daily expenses.
“Thank you very much to Governor Monmon Guico for this significant assistance they have given us,” said Mary Pineda, a meat vendor.
“I hope you continue this good initiative, and we, who have received assistance, will certainly support you in return,” said Joel Fernandez, Salon Stall Owner.
The provincial government continues to bring their platforms, assistance, and services closer to the residents of Pangasinan, ensuring that each one has access to free support.
