Since childhood, Nanay Leony has been carrying the burden of caring for her daughter, Mary Jane.
From daily tasks to essential activities, Nanay Leony has served as her daughter’s hands and feet.
Mary Jane, now 28 years old, has cerebral palsy, a condition that affects her mobility.
But as Nanay Leony ages, she’s growing weaker and can no longer lift Mary Jane as easily.
Despite her desire to buy a wheelchair, financial constraints have held her back.
So, she decided to write a letter to First Spouses League of Pangasinan Chairperson Maan Tuazon-Guico to ask for assistance.
The first lady promptly responded.
Together with barangay officials, Board Member Chinky Tababa, and the PSWDO, the small wish of Nanay Leony was granted.
The much-needed wheelchair was personally delivered to their home, a gesture that deeply touched the family.
They expressed heartfelt gratitude, acknowledging the significant help it provides.
“We’ve been hoping for this for a long time. Now, finally, Madam Guico granted it. Thank you so much, Madam,” said Leony Carulla, mother.
The First Spouses League of Pangasinan continues to extend its services to Pangasinenses in need.
