MUSICAL DANCING FOUNTAIN, NEW ATTRACTION AT BURNHAM PARK

When it comes to Christmas, Baguio City is a top destination.

Apart from its cold weather, there are countless Christmas-themed attractions.

Every year, the Christmas celebration in the City of Pines reaches new heights.

In fact, just last night, November 26, the public witnessed another exciting highlight.

Everyone was amazed as the dancing fountain at the Rose Garden came to life again.

The water in the fountain, coupled with colorful lights, moves in sync with various music.

Its shapes vary from a dome in the middle to a crisscross pattern resembling Singapore’s iconic flower dome fountains.

“I am very excited because I know these are the fruits of our labor, and this is for the people of Baguio,” said Atty. Rhenan Diwas, Head, City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO).

For Wenschel, a first-time visitor from Mindanao, the experience is selfie-worthy.

“It’s so beautiful and exciting! It’s my first time witnessing something this amazing, and it’s in Baguio, my favorite place,” said Wenschel, a tourist.

Adding to the attraction are over 2,000 varieties of roses planted in the park.

“For Baguio, for the people. They truly look for Baguio’s flowers,” Mabel Chagwaten, Mabeline Landscaping Services, stated.

“This will be a very, very enchanting evening, so I am inviting everyone,” said Gladys Vergara, Chairman, Baguio Tourism Council.

The musical dancing fountain is just a glimpse of what Baguio City LGU has in store for its “Enchanted Baguio Christmas,” which will culminate in the opening of the Market Encounter at the Rose Garden this Thursday, November 28.

The fountain at the Rose Garden was initially built in 2014 with the help of former Baguio City Congressman Bernardo Vergara. Renovation started this August.
