MV DOULOS HOPE, RETURNS TO LA UNION; OFFERS UNIQUE FLOATING LIBRARY EXPERIENCE

In a unique cultural experience for book lovers, the MV Doulos Hope has returned to the Poro Point Freeport Zone in San Fernando, La Union, after a year-long hiatus.

The ship docked on April 22, 2025, to a colorful welcome by the locals and its crew.

Originally a cruise ship, the MV Doulos Hope has been transformed into a floating library that offers a diverse collection of books from around the world.

Visitors can explore a variety of genres, including religious and educational books, while also purchasing souvenirs.

The floating library also boasts a minibar and a coffee shop for those who wish to enjoy a beverage while reading.

The MV Doulos Hope opened its doors to the public from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, operating Tuesday through Sunday.

It will remain in La Union until May 27, 2025, before setting sail for Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

This marks the second visit of the MV Doulos Hope to the province, with its last stop in March 2024.

The ship continues to offer a unique way to explore books and culture on the water.
