Vice Mayor Pablito Sanidad of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur announced he is Covid-19 positive and apologized to the persons who will be contact traced especially the people who were in close contact with him the past days.
A known human rights lawyer, Sanidad announced that his RT-PCR test result came out positive. He said he caught the virus even if he is fully vaccinated and all his previous swab tests were negative.
He was informed of his RT-PCR result last Saturday, September 5.
Sanidad stated that he asked Mayor Narvacan Mayor Chavit Singson to allow him to go on leave. Singson immeditely granted his request.
Sanidad on September 6 said that he is now in isolation. “…And if I am lucky I will be free in 14 days or so and be with you again,” he stated.
Sanidad said the session hall of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) is now locked to allow health protocols and other necessary measures.
“Better early than sorry. You will never know how difficult and lonely it is until you find yourself alone in a room with no visitors allowed and all sorts of machines attached to you,” the Vice Mayor said.
A day before receiving the news of his test result, Sanidad presided a public hearing on the closure of the Narvacan Public Market on Sundays. The said closure will allow the regular disinfection of the area.
