The damage left by Typhoons Julian, Kristine, Leon, Marce, Nika, Ofel, and Pepito seemed like a nightmare. These storms devastated provinces in their path.
In the wake of Typhoon Pepito, Nanay Evangeline evacuated with her family.
“I’m afraid that we might get caught by nightfall. I don’t want that, so we just stayed by the canal, and I was scared,” said Virginia Rosas.
Behind her smile, is the prayer to overcome this challenge.
“I was trembling with fear. We just had to leave, and they took us here,” she added.
The recovery of Nanay Virginia and millions of Filipinos affected is part of President Marcos Jr.’s prayer.
This coincided with the 49th Philippine National Prayer Breakfast at Heroes Hall in Malacañang last Monday, November 18.
“Lead with integrity, is a reminder that demands accountability, much higher standards, the spirit of love and humility is present,” PBBM stated.
The President also called for clear thinking among those in leadership, to perform their duties with integrity and in accordance with what is best for the people and in the eyes of God.
“For almost half a century, this gathering is a testament to the power of faith. It is in the shared sense to act and reflect the best of what we are,” PBBM added.
Various religious groups led the National Prayer.
Currently, the President continues to call for prayers for the swift recovery of those affected, with the help of the government and the public.
The death toll from the impact of the seven storms reached 181, with millions of families affected.
