Natuplag lost in his first title defense of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental to Liu Wensong of China last February 4 at the VIC Sports Complex in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Dubai-based Natuplag was surprised by a left cross on his chin followed by a right and left powerful unanswered punches by Wensong in the first round of their scheduled 10 round fight.
Referee Jojo Torres stopped the fight surprising Natuplag who now seeks a rematch because he was only surprised by the Chinese who improves to 8 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw, while the Ifugao fighter drops to 11-4-2 with 10 knockouts.
It came a surprise to Natuplag who climbed the ring with girlfriend Jade Kelly Custodio, a Filipino nurse working in Dubai, who also expressed her surprise.
But Natuplag later surprised everybody when he went down on his knees, offered a ring to his girlfriend and asked for his hand, to which Custodio said yes.
They are now planning to first go home to the Philippines in July.
