Niger, two Filipinos nabbed for ‘kush’ in Baguio

Authorities caught a foreign national and his two Filipino cohorts in a drug sting operation Tuesday 5 o clock in the afternoon at the Grumpy Joe restaurant parking lot along purok 2, barangay Gibraltar, Baguio City.

Agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Ilocos Region Special Enforcement Team led by Agent Ver Castillo, PDEA Cordillera and Baguio City policemen tracked Abraham Hamed, Niger Republic, West Africa national about the kush transaction and in the process also caught his accomplices Troy Adalim Mencio Jr. and Daniel Paul Castro in the process.

Siezed from the suspects are more or less 14 grams or 0.5 dried marijuana kush with an estimated value of P20,000.00.

Castillo said an informant tipped them off about the kush transaction of the Niger national prompting him to coordinate the sting operation with their counterparts in the CAR which resulted in the successful arrest of the foreign national and his cohorts.

The suspects were booked for violating RA 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
