NPA blamed in the slay of Butuan anti-rebel movement leader’s father

Communist guerillas are being blamed in the slay of the father of a an anti-communist leader in Butuan City last Monday.

Severino Alvarez, father of one of the most active Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) Caraga member John Harold Alvarez, was allegedly killed by eight NPA rebels who reportedly barged into their home Mondaya evening.

The NTF-ELCAC while denouncing the killing said, “the vileness of these communist terrorist groups, who are now on the brink of extermination, that they would mercilessly butcher the powerless just to show that they are still relevant and a threat to the government.”

NTF-ELCAC spokesperson Underscretary Lorraine Badoy said, “no words can properly express my deep agony, grief and especially resentment to the wickedness of these godless terrorists against our peace-loving kababayans who stood their ground as they had enough of the atrocities and violence of the CPP-NPA-NDF.”

Justice will be served as we, at the NTF-ELCAC will not rest and continue to bring justice to (the Alvarez family), the multi-agency government anti-insurgency task force promised. “We will not wait for another casualty from these communist terrorist groups as a testimony of the NTF-ELCAC to our country and kababayans,” it vowed.
