Despite the scorching heat, residents of Barangay Nancamaliran East and Barangay Mabanogbog in Urdaneta City flocked to the free services offered by the GUICONSULTA Program of Pangasinan Governor Ramon V. Guico III.
The program also included livelihood services.
Maan Tuazon-Guico, Chairperson of the First Spouses League of Pangasinan, expressed, “We bring services directly to our citizens to make it easier for them to access what they need. My husband and I want every citizen to be healthy and to enjoy all the benefits they deserve.”
The program offered free medical check-ups, dental services, optical services with free reading eyeglasses, laboratory tests like urinalysis and random blood sugar tests, and diagnostic services such as X-rays.
The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist distributed free seeds and seedlings to encourage planting.
The Public Employment Services Office (PESO) provided free haircuts.
Additionally, veterinary services such as rabies vaccinations, deworming, spaying, neutering, and free vitamins for pets were also available.
To ensure beneficiaries didn’t go hungry, the GUICOSINA on Wheels provided snacks, and each registrant received a 200 pesos cash incentive.
For Jenny and Butch, the free vaccinations and consultations for their dogs brought significant relief, as they typically spend over 2,000 pesos annually on rabies vaccinations and vitamins.
Meanwhile, Tatay Henry was delighted to receive free eyeglasses.
“Yes, free check-up, free glasses, thank you,” said Henry Marzan, one of the beneficiaries.
Through GUICONSULTA, potential illnesses can be addressed early, preventing more severe conditions in the future.
