For couple Luz and Rogelio, a smooth and comfortable trip to Manila from their home province of La Union is essential.
They were thrilled upon hearing about the opening of the Candaba 3rd Viaduct on NLEX.
“I’m happy,” said Luz, a traveler.
“It really needs to be comfortable,” said Rogelio, also a traveler.
The Candaba 3rd Viaduct connects the provinces of Bulacan and Pampanga, particularly the towns of Pulilan in Bulacan and Apalit in Pampanga.
The PHP 7.8 billion project under Metro Pacific was completed in just 20 months, earlier than the 24-month contract.
Its timing is perfect for the holiday season.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. reminded, “The timing of this milestone could not be more opportune. As we enter the holiday season, marked by heightened activity and an influx of holiday travelers, this bridge becomes even more crucial. With this in mind, I call on all stakeholders, especially the Toll Regulatory Board and NLEX Corporation, to remain vigilant. Let us prioritize swift response mechanisms and deploy well-coordinated traffic management strategies to address the changing conditions and increasing demands on our toll roads.”
The opening of the NLEX Candaba 3rd Viaduct is expected to ease traffic flow on NLEX during the holidays, ensure safer journeys for motorists, and expedite the transport of goods from Central Luzon to Metro Manila.
