Faster and easier planting and harvesting, this is the promise of the Corporate Farming Program led by the provincial government of Pangasinan under Governor Ramon V. Guico III.
The goal is to further develop the agricultural sector.
The Rice Production Field Day and Farm Mechanization Techno-Demo was held in San Fabian, spearheaded by the Provincial Agriculture Office.
One of the highlights of the demonstration was the use of the Grain Probe Moisture Meter from the Philippine Center for Post-Harvest Development and Mechanization.
With this machine, the moisture content of rice can be measured quickly and accurately, helping speed up trade and prevent losses for farmers.
Aside from the demonstration, the Provincial Agriculture Office also distributed free seedlings of coconut, avocado, calamansi, and jackfruit.
Farmers expressed their gratitude for the support.
Currently, the number of farmer-corporators under the program has reached 1,422 and continues to grow.
Due to its success, the program has earned praise from the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Agrarian Reform.
With the continued push for corporate farming, farmers are not just harvesting crops but also a more prosperous future for Pangasinan’s agricultural sector.
