As an early Christmas gift, the provincial government, led by Governor Ramon V. Guico III, personally delivered financial aid to the residents of Binmaley.
176 vendors from Binmaley Public Market received 2,000 pesos in financial assistance, while 873 tricycle drivers, operators, and TODA members each received 1,000 pesos.
This distribution took place at the Binmaley Evacuation Center on November 7.
According to Governor Ramon V. Guico III, “We calculated with the accountant, PSWDO, and doctors, and most people requesting assistance are asking for medical help. We couldn’t provide this program before due to limited provincial funds. With the increased income, we’re bringing these programs to every Pangasinense so that even those in the farthest barangays can benefit.”
Aside from financial aid, the provincial government also launched the PhilHealth Konsulta Program registration for Pangasinenses, allowing them to avoid long queues at PhilHealth offices.
The beneficiaries also underwent free medical checkups and consultations under the Guiconsulta Program, receiving free medicines like maintenance drugs and vitamins.
The beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude, as they could use the money for essential needs and add to their capital.
“Thank you very much, governor, for helping us in this way. We hope you’ll continue to support us, especially those in need,” said Lorna Versoza, a vegetable vendor.
“We hope this project continues for the province of Pangasinan, especially here in our town of Binmaley,” said Alvin Rosario, TODA member.
