More than 2,000 individuals in Antipolo were given the opportunity to access health services and employment through the “Trabaho at Serbisyong Pangkalusugan para sa Bagong Pilipinas” program, led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
One beneficiary, Mary Cantones, shared how the health center regularly provides check-ups for her 66-year-old mother, who has high blood pressure.
She appreciates the assistance, especially since some of the medications are free of charge.
President Marcos emphasized the importance of collaboration among various government departments in addressing the healthcare needs of ordinary Filipinos.
The program provided free medical check-ups, with almost 1,000 people receiving services from the Department of Health.
In his address, the President highlighted the significance of PhilHealth and other support systems, which are crucial for workers and their families, especially in times of illness.
He also commended the efficiency of the system, with the collaboration of national and local governments, NGOs, and volunteers.
In addition to health services, the program also offered employment opportunities, continuing the government’s efforts to reach out to underserved communities across the country.
