Over 800 Scholars in Mangaldan receive stipends; Disaster Preparedness taught to students in Pangasinan PDRRMO Educational Tour

PangasinanA total of 866 student scholars in Mangaldan, Pangasinan, received financial assistance from the local government on March 17 through a scholarship stipend distribution aimed at supporting their education and easing financial burdens 

The initiative reflects the town’s belief that education is the key to success, as the local government continues to invest in the future of its youth. Each high school student received 1,200 pesos, while college scholars were given 2,000 pesos. 

Meanwhile, applications are now open for incoming Grade 7 and first-year college students who wish to be included in the next batch of scholars for School Year 2026–2027, with interested applicants encouraged to apply and take the program’s qualifying examination.

 

 

On the other hand, Senior High School students from Bolinao, Pangasinan, participated in an educational tour on disaster preparedness organized by the Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, aimed at equipping them with essential knowledge and promoting volunteerism during emergencies.

During the activity, students learned about the roles of various offices, thefunctions of each unit within the PDRRMO, and the use of early warning systems, hazard maps, as well as land and water assets utilized in rescue operations.

The tour also highlighted the importance of volunteerism, showcasing the skills and readiness of Pangasinense youth in responding to disasters.
