P1.44 M MJ nabbed in Sadanga checkpoint, singer falls in La Trinidad

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet—Joint operatives of the Phillipine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – Cordillera and the police operatives in two operations nabbed P1.44 million worth of marijuana then nabbed a singer Monday, March 8.

In Sadanga, Mountain Province, narcs and police intercepted a van carrying some P1.44 worth of marijuana in brick from and a tubular during an inspection at a check point in Ampawilen in barangay Poblacion of said town.

Cops arrested Jeffrey Mateo de Guzman, Jerry Salonga and Allandrix Eligio all from Cabanatuan City who were aboard the Nissan Urvan carrying the contraband.

Police said that the trio sneaked into the town posing as tourists.

Meanwhile, in a buy bust operation along Longlong Road at barangay Puguis here on March 8, narcs and cops from the Benguet Provincial Office nabbed a singer from whom one of them tried to buy shabu.

The suspect identified as Ricky Andy Kuito is a high value individual (HVI) was nabbed after selling a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer.

The shabu is worth P4,284 and cops yielded an additional .36 grams of the drug from the singer with an estimated value of P2,448.

The suspect is brought to the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station for booking.
