More than 1,700 alumni of the Philippine Military Academy seemed to relive their days as cadets.
Last Saturday, February 15, they gathered once again for the PMA Grand Alumni Homecoming.
Here, the oldest alumni present this year, Cavalier Urso Bello from the Class of 1961, was recognized. The youngest attendee was Ronald Bautista from the ‘Bagong Sinag’ Class of 2024.
Eighteen alumni who have made outstanding contributions to the country were also honored.
Upsound: Giving of awards
This year’s guest of honor was the Chairman and CEO of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), Alejandro H. Tengco.
During the event, PAGCOR assured the improvement of several academy facilities.
Aside from this, PAGCOR also committed to funding the construction of the Candidate Control Liaison Office in Quezon City, a new modern warfare laboratory, and additional facilities at the PMA Sports Complex.
Along with this, the new officers of the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association Incorporated Board of Trustees took their oath.
The Cavalier Awardees were also recognized, as well as the donning of medallions for the Jubilarians, including the Diamond Jubilarians Class of 1965, Gold Jubilarians Class of 1975, and Silver Jubilarians Class of 2000.
PNP Chief Police General Rommel Marbil, a member of the Sambisig Class of 1991, also attended the celebration.
