The Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center received PhP28 million from the Philippine Amusement Games Corporation for the purchase of CT scan and ultra sound machines.

In a simple ceremony PAGCOR CEO and chairperson Andrea Domingo turned over the check to BGHMC medical director Dr. Ricardo Runez, Jr.

Domingo went up to Bgauio just to comply with the request made by Baguio Rep. Mark Go during the 2022 budget deliberations in the House of Representatives to personally hand the check to Runez and the congressman.

Go, during said House deliberation, inquired why the Philippine General Hospital and other public hospitals had so much equipment coming from PAGCOR when the BGHMC had none. In response, Domingo said that a formal request must be made by him and BGHMC.

BGHMC immediately wrote PAGCOR which was endorsed by Go which led to Saturday’s turnover of said amount for the purchase of the equipment. BGHMC and PAGCOR also signed a memorandum of agreement for the purchase of said equipment using the donated amount.

On his part, Go thanked PAGCOR in behalf of the people of Baguio and the BGHMC for the donation made that will benefit not only the people of Baguio but also those coming from the Cordillera region and Regions I and II, who avail of the medical services of the hospital.
