Pangasinan Governor Ramon V. Guico III led the distribution of financial aid to thousands of barangay officials in the province’s first district. The provincial government provided this support in recognition of their contributions and service to the community.
In addition to the financial assistance, each barangay received chairs that can be used for various activities.
Governor Guico emphasized the importance of supporting barangay officials, as they are the first responders to the needs of residents in their communities.
Barangay officials expressed their gratitude for the continuous support from the provincial government.
Governor Guico assured that his administration’s support for barangay officials would not end here, as they continue to implement more development programs for the province.
Meanwhile, from 2023 to 2024, the provincial government of Pangasinan has provided free prosthetic devices to 125 persons with disabilities (PWDs).
This initiative was carried out through a program led by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office and the Persons with Disability Affairs Office, in partnership with the Kapampangan Development Foundation, Inc.
The total cost of the distributed prosthetics has reached over 5 million pesos, funded through the government’s resource mobilization project.
Aside from distributing prosthetic devices, Governor Guico also launched the Prosthesis and Orthosis Center and a mobile clinic in late 2024.
Located at Lingayen District Hospital, this facility is the first Prosthesis and Orthosis Center in the country.
The governor assured that programs aimed at providing PWDs with equal opportunities and access to government services will continue.
In August last year, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 1 recognized Pangasinan as the “Most Disability-Inclusive Province” in the region during the celebration of National Disability Rights Week.
