PANGASINAN FIRST SPOUSES LEAGUE, EXTENDS AID TO FIRE VICTIMS IN MALASIQUI

A family in Barangay Tobor, Malasiqui, lost their home and belongings in a fire that broke out just before noon on March 14.

In response to the tragedy, the First Spouses League of Pangasinan, led by Maan Tuazon-Guico, provided immediate assistance to the affected family.

The fire spread rapidly due to the house being made of wood, engulfing not only the structure but also the family’s motorcycle. Within just 30 minutes, nothing was left of their home.

Emelita Mamaril, one of the fire victims, recounted how quickly the disaster unfolded. “I was at my neighbor’s house cooking while my husband was helping build another home nearby. In less than half an hour, our house was already in flames,” she said.

Due to the remote location of their residence, firefighters were unable to reach the scene in time to save their home.

Upon learning about the incident, the First Spouses League of Pangasinan, together with the Municipal and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Offices and 3rd District Board Member Dr. Shiela Baniqued, immediately provided relief aid.

“This assistance comes from the province under the leadership of Governor Guico,” Baniqued stated.

As a temporary solution, the barangay lent the Mamaril family a tent for shelter while they process the necessary documents to receive further government aid.

The family expressed their deep gratitude for the help they received.

“We are very thankful to Board Member Shiela Baniqued, Ma’am Maan, and Governor Guico for all the assistance they have given us,” Mamaril said.

The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office is now processing the required paperwork to provide financial assistance to the family.

The Pangasinan provincial government has assured continuous support for those in need, particularly for those facing life-changing hardships.
