Residents of Pangasinan no longer need to travel long distances for medical consultations, thanks to the Konsulta Plus Guiconsulta program, which brings free healthcare services to communities.
Financial constraints and the high cost of medical check-ups have long been major concerns for Pangasinenses seeking healthcare.
To address this, the provincial government, under the leadership of Governor Ramon V. Guico III, launched the Guiconsulta program, which provides free medical consultations and healthcare services directly to residents.
One of the beneficiaries is Glecy, a resident of Barangay Pilar in Santiago Island, Bolinao.
She shared how difficult it is to visit a doctor since they need to travel by boat to reach the nearest hospital.
Because of these challenges, she often ignored or endured her health issues.
“My left ear has been hurting for a while now,” Glecy said. “I’m very thankful to Governor Guico for this opportunity to receive free medication for my condition.”
Through Konsulta Plus Guiconsulta, Glecy and other residents finally received the medical attention they needed.
The program offers free check-ups, consultations, and medications, providing much-needed relief to those in need.
From February 18 to 22, the Konsulta Plus Guiconsulta initiative was conducted in the towns of Binmaley, Lingayen, Mabini, and Anda.
Governor Guico, Vice Governor Mark Ronald Lambino, and other officials personally led the delivery of healthcare services to thousands of Pangasinenses.
In addition to free medical consultations, beneficiaries were also enrolled in PhilHealth to ensure easier access to Konsulta benefit packages.
Under this program, each patient receives a 300 pesos allowance for transportation and food during their consultations.
“All Pangasinenses will be enrolled in PhilHealth. The provincial government will provide an ID card, and all vital signs and medical records will be stored in an electronic medical record (EMR),” Governor Guico explained. “This will serve as a permanent health record for every patient.”
Vice Governor Lambino also emphasized that beneficiaries will receive immediate PhilHealth registration and access to various check-ups, consultations, and free medications.
The provincial government vowed to continue and expand the program to reach more Pangasinenses in need of healthcare services.
