As Governor Ramon V. Guico III begins his second term, the province of Pangasinan is continuing its push for modernization across multiple sectors, most especially in healthcare.

Among the major developments is the ongoing modernization of 14 public hospitals in the province.

In addition, construction is underway for the Alcala Community Hospital, which will be the 15th government-run hospital in Pangasinan.

Dialysis centers are also being established to provide consistent and accessible treatment for kidney patients.

Healthcare programs are expanding as well. The PhilHealth Konsulta Program, the province’s own GuiConsulta initiative, and the Medical Assistance for Indigents Program (MAIP) by the Department of Health (DOH) are being actively implemented.

“You can toy with any other program but not on healthcare because people’s lives are at stake,” Governor Guico said.

In the area of infrastructure, the provincial government has completed various road networks, bridges, flood control projects, and installed solar-powered streetlights across several towns.

Redevelopment is also ongoing at the Capitol Complex, with a reflecting pool and interactive fountain nearing completion.

Additionally, the Pangasinan Link Expressway (PLEX) is set to reduce travel time and improve connectivity within the province.

Governor Guico has also announced plans to build an 11-storey government tower and a new convention center, key components of his vision to position Pangasinan as the “Singapore of the North.”

Meanwhile, in the education sector, scholarship admissions are ongoing at the Pangasinan Polytechnic College following the latest round of entrance exams.

“We will continue raising the banner of excellence with our present achievements,” Guico said. “And we have more legacy projects and programs that will benefit many more generations of Pangasinenses.”

As Governor Guico enters his second term, residents can expect a surge of new programs and projects geared toward uplifting the quality of life across the province.
