The provincial government of Pangasinan continues the construction of its new reflecting pool and interactive fountain located within the Capitol Complex in Lingayen.
Recently previewed to the public through a test run, the upcoming attraction drew large crowds, with residents expressing excitement over the project.
It is part of a larger redevelopment initiative under the Basic Infrastructure Project led by Governor Ramon Guico III.
The project, also referred to as the “Construction of Multi-Purpose Facility” or the Common Park Center, is expected to become a new centerpiece for tourism in the province.
Designed to offer scenic views stretching from the coastline of Lingayen to the front of the Provincial Capitol Building, the reflecting pool measures 200 meters in length and 22 meters in width, much larger than Baguio City’s Wright Park reflecting pool, which is 100 by 5 meters.
A Heritage Park will also be constructed as part of the redevelopment, featuring relics from World War II.
Additional features include pathways for jogging and biking, safe walkways for the elderly and persons with disabilities, and improved drainage systems to address flooding in the area.
