From September to October, the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio will be celebrating HRAB Week.
The highlight of this year’s celebration will be a special fried rice to be served to 16,000 people.
In the seventeenth celebration of Hotel and Tourism Week in Baguio, various activities are already set for the upcoming month of October, and one of the highlights is the Mr. and Ms. 2024.
Yesterday, they walked the ramp one by one and were introduced to the public.
This year, the competition has been expanded as the participants are not only from Baguio City but also from various parts of Northern Luzon.
Nine pairs of male and female candidates will be competing.
“Looking into this journey. That will excite the audience,โ says Kristine Billy Mateo Tabaday, Ms. HRAB – La Union representative.
“It is truly challenging, this is something I look forward to at the end of the day,โ says Ma. Katrina Calica, Ms. HRAB – Baguio City representative.
“I am proud that I am one of the candidates of Mr. and Ms. HRAB,โ says Hazel De Leon, Ms. HRAB – Nueva Ecija representative.
On Saturday, the contestants are set to showcase their talents at the talent portion, which will be held at SM City Baguio.
Meanwhile, special fried rice is targeted to be shared by 16,000 people on October 3.
Last year, a giant cake was shared, this year, a giant special fried rice will surely satisfy everyone as this is part of Rice and Shine 3.0.
There will be Hainanese rice, adobo fried rice, beef pares fried rice, and more.
The cooking will be led by seven hotels and restaurants in Baguio City.
According to Anthony De Leon, President of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio, โThis is basically feeding the public for free, this time of the year.โ
โThey will be showcasing, 2 rice entries, into that gathering,โ Jeff Ng, Chairman of the Hotel and Restaurant and Restaurant Association of Baguio added.
That is just a glimpse of the upcoming activities planned by establishments in Baguio City these โberโ months.
