In a series of typhoons that hit Luzon, various provinces and towns reported damage.
One of these is Cavite, where several towns were flooded by Typhoon Kristine.
Some residents were helpless in the face of the typhoon’s devastation.
After a month, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. visited Calabarzon and provided aid to the victims.
According to PBBM, “Over 4,200 farmers and fishermen affected by Typhoons Kristine and Leon will receive 10,000 pesos each to help them recover and restore their livelihoods.”
The majority of the aid recipients are from Magallanes, with 577 beneficiaries, followed by Naic with 327.
The aid amounted to 42.33 million pesos.
Aside from this, the president also assured the ongoing construction of flood control projects in the province.
“We continue to strive to restore normalcy to the people of Cavite and nearby provinces in Calabarzon,” PBBM added.
A total of 66,700 families, or 261,000 individuals, were affected by Typhoons Leon and Kristine in the province.
“I encourage you all to remain strong, help each other, and never lose hope, because the government is with you in every step of your recovery,” PBBM assured.
