The devastation brought by Typhoon Kristine and Typhoon Pepito severely impacted Catanduanes Province.
When Typhoon Pepito struck, 500 homes were destroyed, and nearly 70,000 residents were affected.
Additionally, 108 schools sustained damage.
As a result, the province received government assistance led by President Marcos.
A total of P50 million in aid was distributed to Catanduanes.
“Inform government agencies, and we will ensure solutions are provided,” said PBBM.
“This is a huge help for my family and the entire Catanduanes,” said Ryan Sarmiento, Beneficiary.
Beyond this, the Department of Social Welfare and Development distributed food packs, 600,000 pesos in cash assistance, and 2.5 million pesos in additional aid to affected residents.
Before the distribution, the president conducted an aerial inspection to assess the extent of damage in areas hit by the super typhoon on November 19.
He assured evacuees of the government’s continued support in their recovery.
