A new tourist attraction is set to rise in Alaminos City, Pangasinan.
The country’s first-ever sky garden broke ground last May 23, led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
Alaminos, already well-known for the Hundred Islands, is expected to attract even more visitors through this new development.
“One of the good things about the sky garden is that it’s for the whole family. Gen Z can vlog and share their moments here, while our parents and seniors can enjoy the elevated garden without struggling to walk around,” President Marcos shared during his speech.
Aside from boosting tourism, the project is also expected to open more opportunities for locals.
“Our goal is to make the sky garden bring energy to the community and open doors to more visitors and more jobs for our people here,” the President added.
Pangasinan Governor Ramon Guico III assured the public that the project will uphold environmental sustainability.
“This isn’t just an added attraction for our people, it’s a reflection of our love for nature and our commitment to protecting the natural resources of our province,” said Guico.
He emphasized that similar projects should be strengthened to help achieve a greener and healthier environment.
PBBM also encouraged everyone to take care of nature for future generations.
“Let’s preserve and develop our environment. Don’t take it for granted so we can pass it on to the next generations. When we put others first, we build a safer and more prosperous future for all Filipinos,” he said.
The sky garden will feature scenic views, activities, rest stops, and job opportunities for locals.
It will also serve as a rest area for travelers along the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) Extension.
“This project aims to make travel faster, safer, and more convenient so families can enjoy more quality time together,” Marcos said.
The sky garden is expected to be completed before the end of 2026.
