“This budget reflects our collective commitment to transform economic gains into meaningful outcomes for every Filipino. It is designed not just to address our present needs but to sustain growth and uplift the lives of generations yet to come.”
This was the statement of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. after officially signing the national budget for 2025 on Monday, December 30, 2024.
Initially scheduled for signing on December 20, 2024, the General Appropriations Bill was postponed for further review of its provisions.
The national budget aims to continue the projects initiated under the Marcos administration’s Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028.
This budget also prioritizes the health and education of every Filipino.
“We will ensure that social services, including education as mandated by our Constitution, remain a priority, as well as health. We will implement measures to lower food prices, especially rice,” PBBM added.
As the year ends, the administration calls for unity among Filipinos.
PBBM expressed, “With unity, determination, and a clear vision, we can achieve a future where progress is felt in every home, community, and corner of this archipelago. Together, let us build a new Philippines, a nation of genuine and shared prosperity.”
