Every movement, every stance, and every coordination.
The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Talang Dangal Class of 2026 displayed discipline and camaraderie during their Silent Drill in Pugo, La Union.
This performance was part of their annual showcase to the town.
Every move by the cadets captivated the residents, making it a highly anticipated attraction.
Watching the performance, Alfredo, a local resident, recalled his childhood dream of becoming a soldier.
“I’m happy. When I was younger, I dreamed of becoming a soldier. I ran out of time, but maybe my child can pursue that dream,” said Alfredo, a resident.
His 11-year-old son, on the other hand, found inspiration from the cadets to live honorably, do what is right, and dream of becoming a soldier someday.
“They’re so impressive. I want to protect the country,” said Jojo, a resident.
The Silent Drill was part of the Tinungbo Festival celebration, aimed at inspiring and teaching the youth to dream big.
Mayor Kurt Walter Martin expressed, “Since the 7th Tinungbo Festival, it has become a tradition for one of the Silent Drill performers to be from Pugo. Maybe the first performance inspired them aside from other colleges.”
Currently, seven individuals from Pugo have entered the academy and successfully become soldiers.
More activities are lined up as part of this year’s Tinungbo Festival celebrations.
