In just a few days, the joy of the Panagbenga Flower Festival 2025 will bloom again in Baguio City on February 1.
Decorations and booths for the Market Encounter are now being set up at the Rose Garden.
Parents are also accompanying their children to rehearsals for performances in the opening parade.
According to Belen Campos, Parent, “Almost all our children are participating in parades, sports clubs, schools, and floats are all eagerly awaited.”
Although the Grand Parades are yet to come, they are confident tourists will flock to the opening on February 1.
Their request to visitors: “We hope tourists will care for the environment, bring your trash home.”
Meanwhile, the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation, Inc. expects more participants in the Grand Street Dancing Parade and the Grand Float Parade this year.
Evangeline Payno, Chief of Staff, Baguio Flower Festival Foundation Inc., expressed, “Participants include cultural dance groups from as far as Rosario and Pugo.”
With numerous performances, the Baguio City Police Office is also focusing on preventing theft.
To ensure everyone’s safety, the BCPO has formed an anti-theft team and will deploy 1,400 personnel.
PCOL. Ruel Tagel, City Director – BCPO, affirmed, “If anyone feels threatened, we will respond appropriately.”
Regarding traffic, Engr. Bonifacio Dela Peña, City Administrator, stated, “We have a better plan for traffic management this year.”
The Grand Opening Parade will begin on February 1 at Upper Session Road and end at Melvin Jones Grandstand, where participants will perform.
This year’s theme: “Blossom Beyond Boundaries.”
