BREAKING NEWS!

Province of Batanes, strucked by Typhoon Julian

In the island of Sabtang in Batanes, the eye of Typhoon Julian drew closer this Monday morning, September 30.

In these videos from Barangay Sinakan, trees were swayed by the wind.

Some houses, despite having their windows covered with plywood, had their roofs blown off by the wind, leaving the metal sheets scattered on the roads like crushed cans.

Some trees were also uprooted, as the coconut trees and banana plants appear to be unusable.

At the port, massive waves pounded the shores.

On the island of Basco, strong winds and rains were also felt.

This airplane at Basco Airport stood no chance against the sudden gusts of wind and rain.

The strong wind and rain also swayed the trees.

By around ten in the morning, visibility was nearly zero due to the intense rain and wind.

In the town of Uyugan, the municipal grounds were flooded.

As the rains and storm momentarily subsided, the heartbreaking situation in the town became visible.

Some houses lost their roofs.

Banana plants were also destroyed by the storm.

Meanwhile, fallen trees blocked some roads.

Currently, the provincial government is still assessing the situation in six towns of the province affected by Typhoon Julian.
