Pugo, La Union, earned three awards during Fiesta Haraya 2024, held on November 6.
The awards were based on the town’s performance in the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index of DTI Region 1.
The awards are namely: First Place in Economic Dynamism, Second Place in Infrastructure Pillar, and Third Place in Resiliency Pillar.
These recognitions highlight the continuous progress of Pugo’s economy and other aspects of development.
The Province of La Union was also recognized as the Most Competitive Province in Region 1.
Aside from the awards, the event featured a trade fair, gallery exhibit, local gastronomy festival, and capacity-building activities such as painting sessions, seminars on photography and videography, and content creation workshops.
This year’s theme was “Rimat Ti Amianan: Ramba Ti Laing Ken Talugading Ti Rehiyong Uno.”
Meanwhile, the local government of Pugo distributed farming equipment to farmers.
The items, which included drums and fertilizers worth Php 500,000, aim to address farmers’ needs and increase crop production.
The Municipal Agriculture Office spearheaded the distribution.
