The local government of Pugo is ramping up efforts to enhance its tourism sector by providing training for tourism establishment owners and front-line staff.
Recently, the Municipal Information and Tourism Office conducted a workshop titled “Re-Tooling Orientation on Tourism Statistics Reporting for Accommodation Establishments cum Benchmarking.”
Experts from the Provincial Government of La Union and the La Union Provincial Tourism Office led the session.
Through this seminar-workshop, participants received guidance on proper tourism statistics reporting—an essential tool for planning and developing local tourism.
The event also included an observation tour of new tourist destinations in Pugo.
The LGU continues to recognize tourism-related establishments that meet the Department of Tourism’s standards.
Recently, Cultura Splash Wave Resort and Pugo Adventure Park (PUGAD) received DOT accreditation, affirming their high-quality services and compliance with tourism regulations.
Under the leadership of Mayor Kurt Walter Martin, the local government remains committed to boosting tourism through programs that support businesses and employees in the sector.
Meanwhile, the local government of Pugo is not only focused on tourism but also on programs that support its residents.
Recently, 100 beneficiaries from various barangays received financial assistance under the LGU’s livelihood program. The initiative aims to help recipients start small businesses or expand their existing sources of income.
According to local officials, the program seeks to strengthen the town’s economy by providing sustainable livelihood opportunities.
In a separate payout event, 25 senior citizens also received financial aid as a recognition of their contributions to the community.
Octogenarians (80-89 years old) were given 5,000 pesos each, while nonagenarians (90-99 years old) received 10,000 pesos
Mayor Kurt Walter Martin reaffirmed the LGU’s commitment to supporting various sectors, from small entrepreneurs to senior citizens, through continuous aid programs.
