Due to the rains brought by Typhoon Leon in Cordillera, there are still fears of landslides in the region.
These pose a threat to the safety of residents as everyone is busy with All Saints’ Day observances.
In response, the Incident Management Team of the Office of Civil Defense Cordillera is already stationed and on guard.
One team is patrolling the province of Benguet, including Baguio.
According to Eden Claire Carbonel, Public Information Officer at Cordillera IMT All Saints’ Day 2024, “We activated the IMT this All Saints’ Day to also ensure the safety and security of our fellow citizens here in CAR.”
The regional IMT is focused on security inspections and ocular visits to nearby cemeteries, coordination with local IMTs, 24/7 radio communication across all provinces, response to various incidents, and readiness for mobilizing the regional response team as needed.
This assures the agency’s preparedness for any situation.
Their message to the public:
“To our fellow citizens here in CAR, please always be careful and observe the dos and don’ts inside cemeteries,” Carbonel reminded.
The deployment of the IMTs will last until tomorrow, November 2.
