RESIDENTS OF URDANETA CITY, PANGASINAN, RECEIVE VARIOUS HEALTHCARE, LIVELIHOOD SERVICES

The provincial government of Pangasinan continues its tireless efforts to provide healthcare and livelihood services to its residents.

Through the ongoing Guiconsulta Program, assistance was once again extended to the residents of Urdaneta City.

The distribution of various medical aid in Barangays Macalong and Tiposu was led by First Spouses League of Pangasinan Chairperson Maan Tuazon-Guico herself.

The program actively promotes the registration of PhilHealth to ensure access to free healthcare services.

Some of the services offered include dental care, laboratory tests like urinalysis, and random blood sugar tests.

Free eye check-ups were also provided, and some residents received eyeglasses.

As part of the livelihood program, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist distributed seeds of fruit-bearing trees.

The Guicosina on Wheels ensured that everyone had a warm snack to enjoy.

“Thank you to Ma’am Maan for providing us with PhilHealth that we can use in hospitals for free,” said Bryan Martin, one of the beneficiaries.

“Thank you so much to them because they help so many people,” said Conching Corpus, also one of the beneficiaries.

An early Christmas treat was also given to children with toys and art books distributed to daycare students from Child Development Centers.

However, challenges persist, particularly the lack of benefits for Child Development Center teachers.

Maan Tuazon-Guico, Chairperson of the First Spouses League of Pangasinan, mentioned, “You know, one of the issues facing our child development workers, one teacher has been in service for 30 years, but she still hasn’t received any benefits. Her salary is only an honorarium. Why not employ these workers as city employees so they can receive benefits?”

Because of this, the First Lady continues to advocate for the rights and benefits of Child Development Center teachers.
