A 63-year-old woman was killed after being struck by an electric bus inside Camp John Hay in Baguio City on the afternoon of January 16.
Her son, identified as Joeric Andrion, was seen in shock and holding back tears at the picnic grounds where the incident occurred.
According to the family, the victim died instantly after the collision, which happened at around 3 p.m. inside the park.
Andrion said the incident felt unreal, describing it as something he could not immediately accept.
He shared that just a day before the accident, their family had been celebrating the wedding of his older sibling, and the trip to Baguio was meant to be a vacation.
Another family member expressed gratitude to park visitors and staff who immediately helped them following the incident.
The family is now seeking justice for their loved one’s death.
The John Hay Management Corporation released a statement expressing sympathy and assuring the public that it will cooperate fully with authorities in the investigation.
Representatives from the management corporation, the electric bus operator, and the victim’s family have already met to discuss the incident.
Police said their investigation is ongoing.
